Hello (customer name),

A spam e-mail is circulating telling Westpac
customers to follow a link to reactivate their
accounts.

This e-mail was NOT sent by Westpac and is an
attempt to capture the IDs and Passwords of the
customers that responded.

If you have received and responded to the e-mail you
should change your password immediately and advise
us by phone on 0800 400 600.

We will be monitoring activity for suspicious
transactions and you can be assured that we are
working with the Police and other agencies to have
the offending site closed down.

The best protection from this type of fraud is to
never follow an e-mail link to a site where you will
need to disclose secure information such as your ID
or Password. Always type the URL or Web address
yourself
