ISOCNZ to go "underground"?

Seemingly unhappy with the levels of dissent and criticism being
leveled in the ISOCNZ listserv and newsgroup, one participant
has called for all contributions to be approved by a "moderator"
before being posted.
This has drawn instant complaint and would most certainly be viewed with suspicion by those who already believe that too much of ISOCNZ's decision-making and discussion goes on behind closed doors. Given the on-going levels of bad PR that ISOCNZ has attracted since its formation last year, any attempt to suppress free speech and contributions from the wider Net community would be a foolish move. It is therefore most unlikely that this suggestion will actually be implemented. Related stories:
