A couple of years ago I started experimenting with pulsejet engines out of curiosity and with the goal of improving on a design that is more than half a century old. Many of my activities are documented on the pages of this site -- look around. Suffice to say that I've succeeded in improving the power, durability and ease-of-use associated with these seemingly simple designs. In order to help offset the not insignificant cost of the R&D involved in improving the basic designs, and in response to a huge amount of email from those who wanted to buy a modern pulsejet engine, I started manufacturing engines in small quantities. Unfortunately I totally underestimated the demand and soon found myself in the embarrassing position of not being able to fill all the orders I'd received in anything like a timely fashion. I also discovered that the amount of time I was spending on manufacturing was significantly slowing down my R&D activities -- so I'm looking to pass on the business to someone better equipped to build reasonable numbers of these things.
What am I Selling? This will give the buyer total ownership of these designs -- allowing them to manufacture, license to other manufacturers and/or re-sell to any other party. A non-compete clause is also included in the sales agreement which serves to provide further insurance of the value they are purchasing. Along with the intellectual property, I will supply working models prototypes of the engines concerned, plans in PDF, DWG and DXF formats, all forms and templates, plus full constructional notes and documentation. In addition, the buyer will receive full exclusive rights to promote and sell these engines through this website. This site receives over 10,000 visitors a month (see the counter on the front page), each of which is clearly a qualified candidate to purchase these engines. Indeed, the sheer volume of sales which forced me to rethink the viability of manufacturing them myself was generated solely from this website. Since I stopped accepting new orders for engines I have received dozens of emails from people who want to buy and have asked to be advised when this will be possible -- all of those inquiries are included in the sale of the business. I realize that a prospective buyer may be an engineering shop or keen individual with good fabrication skills but little or no knowledge of pulsejet engine theory or design. As a result, I'm including 100 hours of off-site consultation to answer any questions and help them with any problems they may encounter. If the buyer wishes to construct their own online presence I will also offer my services along with access to relevant material (images, text, etc) from this site to assist them in this. Such a site would receive prominent exposure through this site and be promoted as a the place from which the aforementioned designs should be purchased. The asking price also includes a visit to the buyer's premises in order to provide any first-hand assistance they may request.
Significant Growth Potential If just a quarter of all the model/hobby stores in the USA carried one unit of stock, and if just a fraction of high-schools in the USA purchased an engine and the unique documentation that is included for use in science classes, the turn-over could be increased five or ten-fold in a very short space of time.
The Asking Price The engine designs included in the business sale are the result of a significant period of research and development which has involved an investment vastly exceeding the price being asked. I am selling the business as a going concern (ie: exclusive property rights, relicensing rights, website presence, pending orders, etc) for just US$12,000, a mere fraction of the amount I have invested to date. Given the size of the market, the quality of the designs, the level of after-sales support offered, and the fact that a proven sales-channel and good number of sales inquiries are included, this is an extremely modest price which reflects my desire to get back into pure R&D as soon as possible.
