New batch of engines available
As a result of strong demand, I have made another very small run of pulsejet
engines suitable for the cheap Chinese ARFs (or similar model aircraft)
that are now readily available.
A few examples of the new PJ8C (with internal ceramic coating) are still
available for US$299 including shipping by EMS international couriers with
track and trace (where available).
The video below shows the original revised PJ8 prototype installed in a
Chinese ARF Long-EZ.
Although there are other pulsejets for sale on the net, few (if any) have
been proven suitable for model aircraft use -- often being too heavy,
lacking in thrust, too sensitive to fuel-head or requiring an inconvenient
fuel such as propane.
The PJ8C has its own fuel pressurization system that eliminates the effects
of high G-forces and eliminates the need for an expensive fuel-pump. It
is also built from 0.5mm stainless steel, then coated inside with
a special layer of ceramic to improve performance, reduce radiated heat and
extend engine life.
New Batch Ready to Ship
I have made another small batch of these engines which are ready to ship.
Shipping is now by EMS Courier with track and trace (where available) rather than via Airmail
post.
PJ8 combustion-chamber/tailpipe units
Those who have a lathe or are simply looking for someone else to do the "hard part"
of a pulsejet engine build (welding the very thin 0.5mm stainless steel to make
the combustion chamber/tailpipe) can now purchase PJ8C engine bodies. This
makes the ideal start for experimenters who might wish to play around by building
their own valving system and lack the equipment or skills needed to weld thin
stainless steel.
These bodies come with a full set of plans and a project-construction guide
that covers machining a valve-plate and making the other components you'll need
to build a full-blown, flight-ready pulsejet.

if you want one from the next batch.
Ignitor units
These little black boxes drive a regular car ignition coil to provide a spark
hot enough to start any pulsejet engine. They're small, convenient and robust.
Each unit has two LEDs to indicate when they have been connected to a battery and
when they are sparking. Having a reliable spark source makes starting your
pulsejet engine much easier.
