The Sponsorship Option
Was this a good deal for the sponsors involved? I don't know -- but neither I, nor any of the people I've asked can recall the names of any of the sponsors involved.
Fossett's balloon spent 15 days suspended so far above the earth that nobody could see those sponsor's logos and, in a few short weeks, his flight will be just another entry in the record books.
I believe I can offer potential sponsors a much better deal right here on this website!
Reach A Huge Qualified Audience Right Here
Many of these projects have already received significant publicity on TV, in print and elsewhere on the Web -- with a lot more to come.
As a result of such a high level of exposure, traffic to this site continues to grow rapidly. Already the front page gets over 12,000 visits a month and the average visitor reads at least 12 pages while they're here.
Based on the feedback I receive, many of these visitors are extremely interested in gadgets, technology, and various aspects of engineering. This makes these pages an excellent place to promote any product or service that involves metalworking, engineering, tools, lubricants, gokarts, consumer electronics, and just about anything else that "real men" might buy.
Having your product or business promoted here is worth a lot more than just having a banner on a web-page somewhere else. I get a great many emails every month from people asking my advice on what lathe, mill, tools, etc., they ought to buy -- which proves that you'd be reaching a very well qualified audience, many of who are eager to set up their own workshops.
Why Sponsorship Is Required
Such assistance can come in the form of products (as was the case with Amsoil), services, or just plain old cash.
In return for this sponsorship, I'll give your product or service prominent placement on these pages where they'll be seen by all those keen websurfers who pass by. Even better, I hope that you'll eventually be able to take your place in history as one of those who was instrumental in the development of the X-Jet engine.
What's Needed Right Now
My most immediate need right now is a digital camcorder. In order to add extra video and provide images of a superior quality to this site I'm looking for a sponsor who can provide a digital camcorder (preferably PAL and NTSC compatible) suitable for still and motion video. Whoever provides such a camera will have their product or business promoted by way of credits on every video download and a prominent advertising graphic banner/link on each page of this site. That's a *lot* of exposure to a very targeted audience.
The images and video on this site right now have been made with a very cheap entry-level 8mm video camera and converting its noisy, jittery video output into half-reasonable still and video footage is a time-consuming and difficult task.
So, if you're from Sony, Cannon, JVC, Panasonic, etc.; a retailer who sells any brand of digital camcorder; or someone else who wants to swap a camera for some great promotional space, please contact me and endear yourselves to the estimated 200,000+ people who will visit this site in the next year or so.
