Subj: The Spamming Debate

Now you say that there should be a free web based
email service that is specifically established for
spammers to spam.

Ever consider the fact that Hotmail and other similar
services are already doing just that, acting as a
spamming email box! I just re-established a Hotmail
account so I could use MSN messenger service, and
the amount of spam I receive is enormous, even
though I have never ever disclosed my email address
to anyone except my friends who chat with me other the
service. Even the Inbox protector service built-into
Hotmail fails to stop the Spam email, that clogs up my
Hotmail address everyday. And Hotmail says that all
email from the MSN.com domain is not spam as they
agree to the no-spam policy. Bull Crap!

Oh well, That is my 2 cents on the subject at the
moment.

Interesting story - it's old news though isn't it? I
thought that's what hotmail.com is. I'm pretty careful not
to leave my email address lying around, but I still get 15+
spam messages on a quiet day into my hotmail inbox.

Subj: Re: hotmail spam

I set up a hotmail account a few months ago for MSN
Messenger.

I made sure after the sign up process was complete that I
unchecked all the email lists they offer.

To this day I have not had one single spam message to that
account.

So I wouldn't blame Hotmail and Microsoft so much as users
who don't read the small print.

Subj: hotmail spam

I have been using hotmail for 3 years and until in
installed msn messaging i hadn't received any spam !

maybe this is because i don't use a typical name like
dave @ hotmail.com but rather something like
allbung @ hotmail.com.
