From: Aaron Bird For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: Iraq News Iraq journal is a great site, independent journalists on the ground reporting, I don’t know what the coverage during the war will be, but worth a look. www.iraqjournal.org. From: Barry For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: War News Looks like I'll be getting my news from Aardvark ;) From: Sam Wallace For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: the best news source is... http://www.zmag.org/ From: Peter For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: News coverage This morning I read a piece that discussed the growing disparity between US coverage and International coverage, especially the lack of questioning about things like torture reports. My key to getting an overall view is variety. The Washington Post gives a good insight into what the US is being fed. Cartoonists give a good view of those more willing to be critical. I am starting to get used to how Google presents news, it is good for a random snapshot of coverage of the moment. The National Radio programme is good. TV News is hopeless and getting worse. More "show" and less news all the time. Local newspapers are ok in a limited way. But of course, I am inclined to read mostly what suits my viewpoint. From: jonathan dodd For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: getting the truth Mainstream media's an absolute joke at times like this. If you want a more balanced perspective (ie I'm not saying these other sites are objective, but they certainly reveal a lot not shown in NZ), try the following: http://www.newsinsider.org/ http://www.guerrillanews.com/index.html From: Tim Haines For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: This is insightful http://dear_raed.blogspot.com/ is a 'diary' written by a young guy living in Iraq From: Tim For : The Editor (for publication) Subj: Missing from the news? Two things I haven't seen covered in the news recently are the human shields, and the lack of 'evidence that Iraq has weapons' that the US has always claims it had. Has anyone seen information about these stories recently? I found it sickening that news of one US woman getting crushed by a bulldozer got such world press coverage. I doubt the human shields in Iraq will get an equal amount of coverage.Hit Reload For Latest Comments
