From: Fraser Marr For : Right Of Reply (for publication) Subj: www.onthelist.co.nz Following our official response on your article published 22 January 2003. Our “One Off Invitation" mailouts occurred on Monday 21st January is simply not spam as it was perceived to be from most recipients of the emails we sent out. Due to user response, these mailouts were stopped before completion and will NOT re-occur from Onthelist, Swiftnet or any other company in the Swiftnet Group of Companies. As explained clearly on the main page of our website www.onthelist.co.nz, recipient’s information was sourced via an intelligent spider that was developed in-house at SwiftNet for this purpose. Our intention was to simply invite those candidates, carefully selected by our spider to remain on our best list of companies in New Zealand. The benefit of those listed companies is that they would receive increased exposure and business from the huge volume of visitors that still remains to this minute. We have allowed a number of measures to allow recipients the option not to remain on the list. They will then not receive any form of mail of whatever kind from us. Spamming is NOT tolerated by SwiftNet or Onthelist and we are dismayed that some users would perceive it to be spam, which it is not, as stated at the bottom of the mailouts that this mail is clearly NOT SPAM. We hereby wish to apologise for the inconvenience it may have caused as we have NOT done anything illegal. Fraser Marr Chief Executive Officer Swift Networks Ltd (Swiftnet)Now Have Your Say
